A stand for a bamboo whisk, in antique green glaze. The chasen dries with the tines spread, which keeps their shape.

Glazed stoneware. The cheapest way to make a chasen last several times longer.

Dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Avoid sudden temperature changes: do not pour boiling water into a bowl that has just come out of a cold cupboard.

Orders placed before 15:00 on a working day are shipped the same day.

Free shipping within the EU on orders over €75. Below that, shipping starts at €5.00 to the Netherlands and €7.50 to Belgium and Germany. Other EU countries range from €15.00 to €25.00 depending on destination. The exact cost is shown at checkout.

Returns
Unused items can be returned within 14 days. Email webshop@greenteajapan.com with your order number before sending anything back. Return shipping is at your own cost.

Tea can only be returned unopened, with the vacuum seal intact. Once a food product is opened it can no longer be sold, so opened tea is not refunded.

The craft

Mino, Gifu

Mino in Gifu has been making pottery for over a thousand years, and today the area still produces a large share of everything Japan eats and drinks from. That scale is the point: Mino never became a place for collector's pieces, it became a place that makes tableware people actually use.

ZERO JAPAN has worked in Mino since 1992. Their pieces are stoneware, glazed and fired to hold heat well, and made to go in the dishwasher without ceremony. That is a different intention than a Tokoname teapot, and it is why both have a place here.

Mino stoneware is fired at a high temperature, which makes it dense and less porous than earthenware. That is why it holds temperature, does not take on the scent of what you brewed last, and survives daily use.
