Boxes cut to size
We ship in cardboard, in the smallest box the order fits in. That sounds obvious and it is not: a lot of parcels are mostly air, and air is expensive to move and pointless to move.
Where a box arrives here in good condition, we use it again for an outgoing order. So some of what we ship goes out in a box that has already made one trip. If yours has a label scraped off it, that is why.
The filler
The loose chips in your parcel are Flo-Pak Standard: foam made from recycled polystyrene, and roughly 99.6% air. That means very little material and almost no added weight, which matters when a parcel crosses Europe, and it holds a teapot still better than crumpled paper does.
The best thing to do with it is use it again. Keep the chips for the next time you post something. If you cannot, check what your municipality does with foam packaging, because collection differs per region and we would rather point you to that than print a claim about it.
