Sannen Bancha - Shohokuen, Uji

Dark roasted bancha from Shohokuen, harvested in autumn and winter from plants that have been left to grow for three years. Sannen means three years, and the leaf is then aged for about three more before it is sold.

Smooth and sweet-roasted, very low in caffeine. Warm in winter, and it works as an iced tea in summer.
