A light steamed high mountain sencha from Otsuka, made from the Asanoka cultivar.
The leaf is a dark green needle and the cup is clear rather than cloudy, because the shorter steaming leaves the leaf intact. Full-bodied, high in the amino acids that give umami, with a long aftertaste.
If you have only had deep steamed sencha, this is the one that shows you the other side of the style.
