Kyobancha is a roasted green tea, typical for Kyoto, harvested in the autumn.
Very mild, sweet tea, low in caffeine, but with a strong smoky aroma. The tea is roasted over fire in a “kama”, iron pot. The fragrance of the smoke from the burning wood is absorbed by the tea.
A great tea for lovers of peated whisky or lapsang souchong tea. Nice with soft white cheese like camembert or brie.
